Introduction:
This year’s Competition consists of two divisions, the Junior Division and the Senior Division. Students from F.1 to F.3 aged 17 or below (born on or after 14 April 1991) are eligible for the Junior Division, whereas students from F.4 to F.7 aged 20 or below (born on or after 14 April 1988) are eligible for the Senior Division.
Teams, comprising 2 to 5 students, must be nominated by schools. Each school can nominate a maximum of eight teams and each team can only submit one project.
Students are expected to showcase their understanding of science and application of scientific knowledge in their investigation and invention. Such projects should be original and innovative while also being both practical and applicable to real-life. A project may be in the form of:
The entry can be in one of the following stream: the physics and engineering stream OR the biology and chemistry stream. For the physics and engineering stream, it includes astronomy, meteorology, material science, earth science, environmental science, electronics, mechanics, communication, information technology, computer science and energy. For the biology and chemistry stream, it could cover chemistry, chemical engineering, ecology, life science, biotechnology, food science, health science and medicine.
